Today is my Mom’s 60th birthday. Here’s the beginnings of a painting of her back when she was unconsciously steezed out on the beach with our forever missed golden Bear.

My final project for the illustration hothouse this summer was to illustrate six scenes from Arthur Schnitzler’s short story “Night Games.” For whatever reason Hapsburg era opulence and gloom wasn’t really getting me into it so I ended up wasting a lot of time doing work I didn’t enjoy.
Though I didn’t dig how they were executed, I really liked the compositions I had made, so in an effort to sweep them bad memories under the brain rug I re-appropriated the silhouettes into a series of abstract watercolor / photoshop nonsense.
